Today has been day 13 of my challenge to get 8 hours of sleep for 30 days straight.
Every day I’ll share my FitBit Surge sleep data.
Aside from that, I want to document how I’m doing in terms of changing my habits:
- No more screens, from 1 hour before bedtime.
- Go for a 15 minute walk during the day.
- No coffee after noon.
- Use my thoughts to get to a place of gratitude before I go to sleep and when I wake up.
Day 13: 7hrs 03min
I did not reach my goal.
I was working all day on all kinds of stuff and only got to be free at 9PM.
I met up with a good friend and had a late dinner and talks until about midnight.
That’s why I had to write yesterday’s blog post, quickly, late at night, after that dinner 😉

No more screens, 1 hour before bedtime
Not really reached my goal.
I was writing my blogpost late at night.
It is not typical “screentime” where I get bombarded with impulses, like Facebook or YouTube. Because I limited it to just opening up my website, writing the blog, and that was it. But still, I don’t count it as a goal.
Go for a 15 minute walk
I did not reach my goal.
I scheduled a meeting at work at 1PM, right after lunch. And I was preparing for that meeting before lunch and found myself using a little time of my lunch break for that, leaving no room to go for a walk.

No coffee after noon
I did not reach my goal. I had a coffee after dinner, late at night when I was sitting down with my friend.
I think this is the first time I’ve failed my coffee goal! Pretty impressive.
Be in a place of gratitude
No and yes.
However, I was spending time with my friend and having great conversations, I was also stressed and tired and feeling hasty.
