Today has been day 29 of my challenge to get 8 hours of sleep for 30 days straight.
Wednesday. Happy hump day. A full day of work in Belgium followed by visiting a good friend in Holland.
Every day I’ll share my FitBit Surge sleep data. Aside from that, I want to document how I’m doing in terms of changing my habits:
- No more screens, from 1 hour before bedtime.
- Go for a 15 minute walk during the day.
- No coffee after noon.
- Use my thoughts to get to a place of gratitude before I go to sleep and when I wake up.
Day 29: 6hrs 08min
I did not reach my goal.

Wednesday night, I was up catching up on life with my friend, followed by doing some work, preparing for a meeting the next day. I went to bed a little after midnight.
No more screens, 1 hour before bedtime
I did not reach my goal.
I think I shut down the computer about 15 minutes before I went to bed, so no, I definitely did not reach my goal in this regard.
Go for a 15 minute walk
I reached my goal.
I went for a nice little tour later in the afternoon with some colleagues.
No coffee after noon
I reached my goal.
Pshhh.
Be in a place of gratitude
I did not reach my goal.
Since I chose to work on the computer and reply to some messages on WhatsApp right before bed I did not take any time to consciously put my mind in a grateful setting.
